Originating in London and primarily active within the United Kingdom and France, Afidi is a fresh charitable initiative with a singular purpose: to inspire children's love for reading. The stark absence of libraries in many underprivileged zones of Yaoundé, Cameroon, serves as a pressing concern. In response, Afidi has embarked on a mission to gather pre-owned books, laying the foundation for a local library in Yaoundé. This space will not only house books but also serve as a hub for various activities, including engaging programs for babies and toddlers, captivating children's reading competitions, and beneficial English courses tailored for teenagers.
Upon learning about the charity's mission from its founder, my initial instinct was to craft an exuberant branding strategy that effortlessly captures attention. Following extensive research, we honed in on a visual language that draws inspiration from the scribbles of children's handwriting and the uniqueness of fingerprints. Manipulating various typefaces and incorporating organic shapes reminiscent of fingerprints, we brought forth the distinctive logo.
